A psychiatric assessment considers symptoms, work-related limitations, treatment history, and the expected course of the condition.
California Disability Insurance claims require medical certification from an eligible licensed health professional. Certification must reflect the clinician’s findings; EDD determines benefit eligibility.
Preparing for Your Appointment
- Gather the relevant EDD request or forms and any stated deadlines.
- Prepare a description of your usual job duties and current difficulties.
- Bring a medication list and information about current and prior treatment.
- Ask the practice which records are needed and how to provide them.
