Independent Assessment
Independent psychiatric evaluations may be requested by attorneys, employers, insurers, or other authorized parties. They are designed to address an agreed set of questions using the interview, available records, and relevant clinical findings.
Dr. Parisi brings his experience as a Qualified Medical Evaluator to the assessment of psychiatric impairment and occupational functioning.
Assessment Measures for Work-Injury Applicants
For psychiatric work-injury applicants, standardized questionnaires and rating scales help characterize symptoms and functioning. Measures are selected for the evaluation and interpreted alongside the clinical interview, relevant records, and the demands of the applicant’s work.
Scores support the overall assessment; they do not by themselves establish work-related causation, disability, or eligibility for benefits.
Before Records Are Sent
- Confirm the retaining party and the purpose of the evaluation.
- Identify the questions to be addressed and the intended report recipients.
- Allow the practice to review suitability, conflicts, and scheduling.
- Agree on the scope, records process, and timeline.
The purpose, confidentiality limits, and use of the report are explained before the examination. Independent opinions are based on the evidence and are not advocacy for a predetermined outcome.
